LEATHER UPCYCLING
We develop and produce articles with the claim of sustainable action in the entire value chain. In doing so, we assume responsibility for our actions and actions and carefully examine the effects this has on people and the environment.
Manufacturing products in our own manufactory in Switzerland is a long-held dream that designer Reinhard Margelisch has made come true. Since the trips to the studios in India are limited to a few weeks a year, the dream of having our own manufactory in Switzerland grew so that we would always be surrounded by raw materials, machines and the production atmosphere. This immersion reinforces his creative process work.
In order to be able to realize this dream, he was looking for an ecologically sensible material from which he and his employees could create the basis for a sustainable product directly on site in Switzerland. Discarded furniture such as sofas and armchairs, leftovers from leather production and the automotive industry became the basis for realizing these ideas in order to produce sustainable leather wallets that block RFID signals.

We obtain leather-covered furniture from the roadside or disposal yard, production leftovers and faulty goods and bring them to our factory. We have set up new jobs especially for this, rebuilt the workshop, created storage space and implemented a procurement and disposal concept.
We extract the valuable raw material "leather" from furniture, remove foam, metal and wooden structures. We separate the materials according to type and bring them to recycling.
We clean the leather, prepare it and cut it to size for the production of our upcycled RFID leather wallets.

By using raw materials that we already have, we can reduce a significant amount of waste. Accordingly, the CO2 emissions are reduced. When removing the leather from furniture, we have the option of separating the material by type.
The resulting raw materials can be reused. The leather is used in our RFID wallet production, wood is reused in the production of OSB panels and metals are remelted.
With our upcycling concept, we make an environmental contribution and create local jobs.
